My SkinCare Routine!!!

Hi Beauties

A lot of people have asked me what skincare routine is at the moment, so i thought i would share it on my blog. I hope this will help some of you guys out there.
First of all i would like to say that i do not have perfect skin, no no i have very sensitive Acne prone skin. At the beginning of this year i told myself that i would start taking care of my skin because it was getting worse. I did a lot of research and trials to come up with a good skincare routine. My skin is not perfect but it has improved greatly and i think is because i now take good care of my skin.

With my skin i keep it natural and simple really. I find that most commercial products are really harsh for my skin. Another thing is that i decided to study my skin to find out what type of skin i have so that i could find the right way to treat it.

Skin Type

I've got Combination skin. My T-zone (forehead and down to the nose) is very oily and my cheeks and rest of my face is dry.

Products For My Face
  • WitchHazel (from most Pharmacies)
  • Lime Juice
  • Organic Honey
  • Aspirin ( once a week)

  • African Black Soap - It's a great natural soap for cleansing the face.

  • Ultraband by Lush- Its a MakeUp remover and it also cleanses the face at the smae time. It is best for people with oily or combination skin.

  • Tea Tree Water from Lush-  Its a great toner it soothes the face and tackle blemishes.

  • Cosmetic Warrior from Lush -face mask that combats spots, cleanse dirt, calm and soothe all troubled skins. Antiseptic fresh garlic and tea tree essential oil, reinforced with deeply cleansing kaolin and fresh grapes, are aided by softening honey and free range eggs. Ingredients are Kaolin, Fresh Green Grapes (Vitis vinifera), Fresh Free Range Eggs, Honey, Cornstarch (Zea mays), Glycerine, Fresh Garlic (Allium sativum), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), *Limonene, Perfume.

  • Vanishing- The low fat moisturiser to make your skin troubles vanish. This is great if you have acne, spots or oily skin.

My Daily and Weekly Routine

I cleanse my skin twice a day Morning and night to remove dirt, oil and makeup from my face.

In the Morning

  • I cleanse my face with the African Black Soap, it a great natural soap for the face and body. It clears skin bumps and spots. It helps relieve acne, oily skin and other skin problems.

  • After washing my face i dry it by patting it with paper towels. I prefer paper towels because i don't have to re-use them and it seems to work for me.

  • Immediately after drying i apply the Tea Tree Water from Lush to tone my skin. Toning of the face helps in removing any residual dirt or cleanser on the face. It also helps in restoring the natural pH level of the skin, making it ready for being hydrated. Another great and effective toner to use it Witch hazel, i usually add tea tree oil and glycerine in a bottle and shake it.

  • I then apply my Day eyecream from Avon.

  • After that i apply my vanishing cream and that's it for the morning
In the Evening
  • I wipe of my make-up with the baby wipes. I then apply Ultrabland and rub softly in circular motion and i take cotton wool, dip it in warm water and then wipe off the rest of my make-up. Ultrabland also cleanses at the same time so i dont need to cleanse after doing this.

  • After cleansing i apply my Toner

  • I apply lime Juice on any spot i may have, it helps reduce the appearance of spots.

  • I apply my Night Eyecream from Avon

  • After that i apply my Vanishing Cream from Lush.
This what i do daily, it seems like a lot but once you get into the routine, you will find it easy. Also as for cleansing if you don't want to use the African Black Soap , you can subtitute for the Clinic Cleansing Bar. I used to use it before i changed to the Black soap and it is good as well.

What i do During the Week

Scrubbing- I scrub my face 2 or 3 times a week. This helps remove all the dead skin cells from the face.

Mask- I apply my mask which is Cosmetic Warrior from Lush 3 to 4 times a week. I apply it after cleansing my face and leave it for 5 minutes and then rinse off. this helps to deep clean my face.

Aspirin Mask with Honey- I only apply it once a week, this helps with any acne or redness on the face. I've got a blog post on how to make the aspirin mask. If i dont have any break outs i don't do the aspirin mask.

This is what i do daily and weekly, it seems like alot but it's not. If you want your skin to be better you have to take care of it. This routine and the products have improved my skin. One important product that everyone should use is Water, you have to learn to drink water regularly this will help improve your skin.
My advice is to be patient and study your skin and i will encourage using naturally made products. I have tried different commercial products and it did not help my skin and just made it worse. So i decided to try natural products, i did a lot of research and trials to find the right products for me. I prefer using lush products because their products are naturally made and they work for my skin.

I hope this was helpful to you. Until next time, Stay Blessed xoxo

@dahlialove This what i've learnt with skin care. there is no quick way in cleansing especially for people with problem skin you have to go thru the process of cleansing, toning and moisturizing and because your skin builds up dead skin you have to remove them at least once or twice a week by scrubbing to prevent clogging of the pores. its seems like alot but you get into the habit. even if you get meds from dermatologist you still have to go through these process to achieve healthy skin

you clease your face when you shower anyway and before you apply loion to ur body u can quickly tone ur face and apply moisturizer. applying eyecream is important i will write a post on that soon. it does not take more than 5mins to do all that, you just have to get into the habit, i hope it helps
